There are million reasons to live in Port Harcourt,Rivers state,Nigeria. Apart from the fact that the city is blessed with natural resources , there’s so much more going on there, here are five top festivals/events you must attend if you ever visit or relocate to Port Harcourt.

5. Garden city Festival: The garden city festival mostly celebrated in the third week of December is a celebration of music, this festival is mostly attended by teens and young adults between the ages of  18-35. If you are a young adult don’t miss this for any reason.

4. Chow Fair : Prepare to be mesmerized at chow fair,it is a regular event that is slated to hold the government residential area phase 3 of Port Harcourt from April 20th – 21st April . Chow fair is all about the celebration of food! food! and food! it aims to promote varieties of food. At chow fair music is not left out, young and upcoming PH artistes are given the opportunity to perform live on stage. Chow fair is a must attend this year!!

3.  The Big Hangout : The name tells it all, hanging out with a friend can never be fun as hanging out with a group of friends, just like a mini get together. The Big Hangout which normally takes place in the summer (rainy season) is a sure place to be, a one day hangout packed with a lot of fun and excitement.

2. Grill and Games “Mega party” :The biggest and the best outdoor games experience in Port Harcourt! Ranging from virtual reality to tennis,basket ball,monopoly etc It goes on and on. If you are in need of fun and a full stomach don’t just miss bole festival. Let me tell you a little bit about bole, bole is a street food made up of roasted plantain,spicy pepper sauce and fish. The bole festival is celebrated yearly aimed at promoting and show casing roasted ancient and modern delicacies. Last year the fair had about 6000 food lovers from all around the world, there were lots of stands for food exhibitions,art work,comedy ,competition ,fun and games. Bole festival trended on social media and international news stations like BBC and CNN etc. It’s a must attend for all age groups.
